To
Aisha Wood-Jackson and her assistants I say thank you, merci and gracias. Words are not enough to express my gratitude for the lecturer of ICT for Reading 2010 and her assistants. The exposure and the joy I experienced from each one of the Web 2.0 technologies was phenomenal. Without a doubt I intend to use this knowledge to bring empowerment to the students and teachers of our Trinidad and Tobago.  Not only were these ladies competent, thoughtful, pleasant and PATIENT, they were able to move all of us from ground zero to the top of the Eiffel tower in technology. I was no longer led as a lamb I was now leading the pack to conquer any attempt to stop the technology. They were the beautiful flower and we were the butterfly who visited daily to obtain sweet nectar. In addition to the endless websites on 'free' teaching and learning of reading, we learnt about:
- Blogs,

- wikis,

- webspiration,

- kidspiration,

- ebooks,

- digital storytelling,

- photography,

- writing for the Web

- collaboration,

- lesson planning

Thank you Aisha, Murella and Cherisse

Hi 1stKathine,
ReplyDeleteIt is truly wonderful to express thanks to these wonderful individuals who did not hold back anything from us. In fact, I feel that they wished that they could have done more.
My only regret is that I did not have enough time to practice everything which I learnt on the course.
On a more positive note, I went into this course knowing 10% and I came out knowing almost 70% and for this I am truly grateful and I cannot wait to share my technological experiences with others.
That is a common regret when you go to a great course. There are so many things to practice and learn, you have to make choices then hookup with a friend who was better at some other task or skill than you were so you get to learn all. When you all are done use Youtube and create "how to"
ReplyDeletevideos that you can refer to as much as you wish.
Here, here Denise so am I. I am totally excited about sharing what I have learnt with my students and fellow teachers.

ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea to use Youtube to get the word out. After all we do use Youtube on a continuous basis.
I am in total agreement that we needed more time to practice these tool to become effective users but that was not possible.
ReplyDeleteto put what you know on you tube is a great idea but remember you are all saying that you needed practice so you need to perfect it before it goes all over the world as ...........
